We never thought of it that way. Apple TV as cable/satellite replacement? Too many interesting shows to watch. But Uncle Sean at Associated Content thought it was a good idea to watch only what he wanted and not what the cable/satellite providers forced him to watch. His logic was this. Uncle Sean figured that he was paying the cable/satellite company about $600 a year. Apple TV costs $300 + $300 - $400 in movie/TV show purchases. So the first year is probably going to be more expensive. But subsequent years should be less since he has already invested his money in the Apple TV. Sounds good enough. In the end, he thought that Apple TV is a great alternative to cable/satellite. He likes the simplicity of the interface and the remote. And also the fact that was in control of the programs he was watching. His gripes were that there was no HD content available (isn't this always the case?), not enough H.264 videos on Youtube and the on-screen keyboard is too hard to use. Trackback(0)

And with a quick script that is always seeking new files, I can download, burn and save to itunes for streaming with just a click.
Thanks Apple. I'm am anxiously waiting for future AppleTV innovations.
